This one-day course delivered over two half day virtual sessions provides highly engaging and practical training for better understanding, identifying, preventing, and responding to all forms of fraud. The course offers practical insights, guidance, tools, and takeaways for better protecting clients, employees, and businesses of all sizes. All participants will also be supported in developing a fraud prevention action plan and provided with supporting material.
The course is delivered from 9.15am to 12.30pm on both Thursday 22 October and Thursday 29 October 2026.
The course modules will support participants in:
The course will develop a participants understanding of the following:
1. International Fraud Landscape: The sources of fraud; the evolving technologies, capabilities and strategies of fraudsters; and the implications for individuals and businesses.
2. External Threats & Cybersecurity: The common weaknesses in personal and business defences against fraud and cyber-attacks, and the value of cyber security and digital hygiene.
3. Methods & Psychology of Fraud: The psychology, techniques, and structures of scams and the behavioural red flags of fraudsters and their victims.
4. Clients as Fraudsters & Victims: How clients may be either the fraudster or the victim, and the key typologies and behavioural indicators that help identify both.
5. Insider Threat: The risk of internal fraud in a firm and the behavioural red flags and controls for preventing, identifying, and managing the risk.
6. Fraud Framework & Incident Management: The key requirements of an effective fraud framework e.g., incident management, escalation, investigation, and reporting processes.
7. Further Resources & Support: Understanding where individuals and businesses can access further guidance, support, and fraud reporting resources.
Individual Ticket: €175 per person (plus 20% VAT)
Business Ticket: €175 per person (Tickets only available to businesses purchasing for business purposes. A valid Irish VAT number and business billing details must be provided and the business customer must account for Irish VAT under the reverse-charge procedure).
Award: Certificate of Completion from ComplianceLnD.
