This spring, Concordia University Chicago's Theatre@Concordia, in collaboration with the Latino Student Union and Spanish Program, present a FREE night of short plays:

"Stories in the Rain"

The selected plays together serve themes of cultural and feminine identity, loss, companionship, and self-acceptance.

Between the Clothes Aisle by Emil Clausing '22

Two girls meet in an unlikely liminal space and find themselves discussing life, friendship, and loss.

At Liberty by Tennessee Williams

A downpour in Blue Mountain, MS. A lively actress comes home at 2:30 AM to encounter her mother’s nightly opposition.

Coser y cantar by Delores Prida

In the Cuban-American playwright's “One-Act Bilingual Fantasy,” a Latina woman’s inner conflict is brought to life, split on stage into two characters who each embody one side of her dual identity.

All three works will be performed each night:

• Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 7:30 PM (LSU attendance and talkback night)
• Friday, April 24, 2026 at 7:30 PM
• Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 7:30 PM

Doors Open: 7:10 PM

Runtime: 60 minutes (no intermission)

Appropriate for general audiences; contains brief mild language and simulated gunshot sound effects.
