CNP Homeschool Days

Homeschool Days at Conestee Nature Preserve is open to children ages 5-11 years old.  You will drop your child off with us to spend the day exploring and learning about the natural resources found at CNP.

This Spring we are focusing on watershed conservation. This is the last in our 3 part series where we hope to review some of the things discussed but also provide more insight into the conservation issues around water in the Upstate of South Carolina and CNP specifically.

May 16th - All about conservation. The groups will look at different things they can do at home and abroad to help preserve our waterways. They will participate in a conservation activity that helps improve the water quality around Conestee by either doing a litter sweep, improving habitat by removing invasive species, or planting native plants. Service project will be determined closer to the date.

We are limiting the teaching groups to 15 students. Groups will be formed based on age. Each group will have 1 staff and 1 CNP volunteer leading the group. All participants should bring a lunch or snack to enjoy around 11:15am. 

WHEN

Friday, May 16, 2025, 9:30-1:00

WHERE

We will update you with an exact meetup location the week of the event. Sometimes rain events create trails that are impassable. Make sure you look for an email update a day or two before the event.

COST

$10 for 1st child, $8 for additional children (SALES CLOSE May 15th at midnight)

COMPLETE REGISTRATION

Please complete this Google Form to complete your registration and to sign the waiver. You will only need to complete this once for the 2024-2025 school year. This form must be completed prior to the event date so that we can create the teaching groups based on student ages.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill.

WEATHER

If the weather is not cooperative, you will be notified via email the morning of the program. The email will be sent by 8:15am so please check your email if the weather looks iffy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the event for a full refund. See above for health and weather-related circumstances.
