Macroinvertebrate Mayhem!

If you've ever looked in Conestee's wetlands, you've probably seen fish and turtles swimming around but there's more than meets the eye! With the help of some dip nets, we'll uncover and collect other animals (macroinvertebrates) that call the water home. These macros are so cool, some of them have even been used for Hollywood movie inspiration! You'll learn how to ID them and use them to help determine how great or poor an area's water quality can be. You'll be a water quality scientist in the making! 

WHERE

We will meet at the River Entrance (widely considered our main entrance) at 840 Mauldin Rd. Gather under the archway at the trailhead (A on our Map).

WHEN
Please plan to arrive by 10:45 a.m. so the program can begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.
