Description
Conestee Nature Preserve is a birding hotspot in the Upstate! Our location and the diversity of habitats provide the perfect landing spot for lots of different bird species. This event is great for those who have never put on a pair of binoculars or for those just getting started with their birding journey.
During the workshop you will learn:
- How to use binoculars, which we will provide for every participant.
- The key characteristics to look for when trying to identify a bird.
- Scientific terminology that will help you when looking at field guides.
- Which apps and field guides we recommend.
WHO
This event is best for anyone 12 years and older that has an interest in birds or learning to bird. Dogs are not allowed at events at CNP.
WHERE
TBD - participants will be emailed prior to the event on where to meet the instructor.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
This event takes place entirely outside which drastically reduces the spread of COVID. Physical distancing will be possible for a majority of the event. Masks are encouraged. Please do not attend the event if you are showing any symptoms of COVID.
WEATHER
Participants will be notified the night before the event if we need to cancel due to the weather. All participants will be refunded if we are forced to cancel.
