This event was created for a Homeschool field trip being organized by Whitney Personal of the Homeschool Community of the Upstate.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Bees Make our Cheese - Students explore a meadow filled with wildflowers, butterflies and bees in this seasonal program. We’ll play games and get hands-on to better understand pollinators and how they affect our food.

WHERE TO MEET

840 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC

Please park in the smaller parking area on the southside of Conestee Park. If you enter the park at the traffic light at the intersection of Mauldin Rd. and Ridge Rd. the parking area will be the first left. Drive all the way to the end of the parking area and park near the Community Garden.

WHAT TO BRING

Please have plenty of water for the children. We will spend a good portion of the event in the sun so sunscreen is also a good idea. You are welcome to bring lunches and enjoy them afterwards. You can stay in the nature preserve and eat at the tables near the lake or you can drive to the other side of the parking area and eat under the shelter by the playground. If you choose to eat in the Nature Preserve please plan to pack out all of your trash. We are a leave no trace facility.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

This event will take place entirely outside in open air, with distancing possible in most situations.

Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill. In the event of such cancellations, we are happy to issue a refund.

WEATHER

If the weather is not cooperative, we will attempt to re-schedule this program.

REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION POLICY

Everyone must be registered by September 15, 2022. Tickets can be requested after that date but may not be honored based on staff availability. Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the event for a full refund. See above for health and weather related circumstances.
