This event was created for a Homeschool field trip being organized by Whitney Drake of the Homeschool Community of the Upstate.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Ecology Excursion: Students visit Henderson Meadow to discover circumstances that can change the environment like limiting factors and available resources. They’ll discover symbiotic relationships between the plants and animals here. Students also explore the Piedmont Seeps, a unique wetland system, where they’ll catch a variety of animals and create a food web.
WHERE TO MEET
601 Fork Shoals Rd., Greenville
Please type this address directly into your GPS. This is not the main entrance to the Preserve. This entrance has a small gravel parking area next to a stone house. It is just south of the traffic light at Fork Shoals Rd. and White Horse Rd. Extension.
WHAT TO BRING
Sunscreen, water, and a packed lunch. Please be prepared to pack out your trash. We are a leave no trace facility.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
This event will take place entirely outside in open air, with distancing possible in most situations.
Please do not attend the event if you are feeling ill. In the event of such cancellations, we are happy to issue a refund.
WEATHER
If the weather is not cooperative, we will attempt to re-schedule this program.
REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION POLICY
Everyone must be registered by September 15, 2022. Tickets can be requested after that date but may not be honored based on staff availability. Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the event for a full refund. See above for health and weather related circumstances.
