Plant a Piece of Nature
Join Congleton Rotary Club for a free family planting session at Congleton Museum.
6 August, 11.00 am-3.00 pm
Children will decorate a biodegradable pot, fill it with compost and plant seeds to take home and grow. The Rotary Club will provide the pots, planting materials and support throughout the activity.
The workshop is inspired by Our Disappearing Nature, Congleton Museum's new summer programme exploring how local wildlife and landscapes have changed over the last 100 years. Families will discover how planting even a small pot or patch of wildflowers can support local wildlife and contribute to the future of Congleton's natural environment.
Children will receive simple guidance on caring for their plants at home and can follow their progress as the seeds begin to grow.
This workshop is part of Nature Thursdays at Congleton Museum. Alongside the workshops, families can explore the Our Disappearing Nature exhibition, with self-guided trails and activities throughout the museum.
Entry and the workshop are free of charge. Donations are welcome, with a suggested donation of £3 per child.
Suitable for children aged 5+.
