MidEast and Balkan Percussion Ensemble (Fortnightly)
Sat 1 Feb 2025 5:00 PM - Sat 29 Mar 2025 7:00 PM
Music Tree, N1 NTP
Description
Develop your Middle Eastern and Balkan drumming and Ensemble skills by learning traditional repertoire and original composition for percussion. This is for people who already know how to play any of the region's drums to a low-intermediate or high level and want to be in a group of like-minded people who want to deepen their knowledge and create music together.
This is a percussion-focused ensemble.
This is not suitable for beginners. For those wanting to learn how to play these drums there is another course happening on Tuesdays for beginners. Check Music Tree webiste www.musictreeuk.com for more information
The musical parts will be grouped according to skill and drum: those with more experience will be given the opportunity to solo and play complex parts; those with less experience will play more simple parts.
Limited to 12 committed people who are willing to come every session and practice in between the sessions.
PART 1 (FIRST TERM): Sessions are fortnightly starting on Saturday 1st February, followed by 15th February, 1st, 15th and 29th March from 5 to 7PM.
Handouts and recordings will be given.
