Justin Quinnell Masterclass

Contact Darkroom is incredibly excited to be hosting an experimental and expansive workshop led by one of the world’s leading experts in pinhole photography, camera obscura, and alternative photographic processes — Justin Quinnell.

This immersive 4-hour workshop invites participants to explore a range of playful and inventive techniques, including:

• Turmeric photography
• Eyescuras
• DSLR photography using flash
• Pinhole DSLR video (participants will make their own pinhole to use on a DSLR)
• Darkroom pinhole photography — both outdoor long exposures and indoor flash-based work (Awfullogrammes and Walkagrammes)

There will also be an introduction to solargraphy, with the possibility of making your own solargraph camera (depending on materials… and how many beer cans we can gather in time!).

This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from a pioneer of experimental photography and to push the boundaries of what a camera can be.
