We will start from close to the Abbey St Bathans Sawmill NT7627 6191

Parking is available at the Woodlands Café car park (closed on Thursday) which is 100m north of the sawmill entrance
There is a compost toilet at the sawmill
Transport arrangements
Need to share vehicles as parking is limited and the public roads are single track with limited passing places. It would be good if we can have at least six 4x4 which could be used to transport people through the forest on the afternoon visit.
Walking involved
Morning 1.4 miles – level, on rides and in forest
Afternoon – Forest road, tracks and in forest. Short steep sections
What to bring
PPE Boots suitable for rough ground and waterproofs.
Sawmill visit – High vis
Biosecurity is essential due to the significant proportion of larch on the estate, please ensure that your footwear and vehicles are clean before arrival.
Lunch and drink: Bring your own food and drink for lunch and snacks.
Finish: by 4.00pm
Booking: is essential. To allow for good discussion and facilitate logistics, places at the meeting will be limited in number.
