Join this half-day online course to develop your knowledge and skills in Information Management and Logging under the expert tutelage of Andy Houghton.
Our Logging and Information Management course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to record information effectively, share information using industry good practice tools and give you access to our extensive experience and resources. We believe in learning through doing, so you will get plenty of role practice experience.
The objectives of this course are:
- Explain the key elements of logging in a control room /incident environment
- Describe the benefits of accountability through decision making, recording and logging
- Understand how to use technology to enhance information capture
- Demonstrate applied skills at logging information through practical exercises.
- Understand legal and organisational requirements for audit trail and information management
- Recognise good practice tools and techniques to log information effectively
- Develop knowledge and experience of decision making and its relationship with logging
Content includes:
- Importance of logging
- Key attributes of an effective log
- Practicing decision logging
- Live Exercise including audio clips to practice information recall
- Use of our Live log platform (ECR Manager) which enables you to rapidly capture and share information during the training. You can utilise your own log platform and screen share it to us should you prefer
- Skills for Justice Awards assessment and certificate
Tried and tested
Our training has been used by a variety of organisations and individuals to ensure that their audit trail, information management and overall Control Room and Incident Management arrangements are effective. Trainees have ranged from sporting stadia, festivals, construction projects, corporate organisations, housing sector and event organisers.
We practice what we preach and utilise knowledge and skills from the course in our every day operations including:
- supporting crisis management to clients
- delivering our web-based log (ECR Manager) to London Marathon Events, SailGP, Royal Horticultural Society, 37th America’s Cup, among many other temporary events
- providing control room management and controllers/loggists to over 150 events per annum.
The course content is consistent with standards and good practice. Our training aligns to specific Skills for Justice National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is both SFJ Awards and CPD accredited.
Upon booking, we will share a brief questionnaire with you to understand your specific training needs and desired outcomes from attending the course. We will share pre-course learning ahead of your session. As the course closes, we will discuss with you the assessment process and deadlines. Your assessment will then be Quality Assured and submitted to SFJ Awards for certification, this process can take up to eight weeks, dependant on deadlines.
