Wine Making Workshop
Sat 7 Sep 2024 14:00 - 17:00
Coole Eco Community, R42K066
Description
Learn how to make your own wine using fruit and wildflowers. Can you imagine, for little or no expense, producing a high-end alcoholic beverage that not only tastes delicious but, having no artificial additives, is better for your health than almost any wine you can buy?
It's possible and not even difficult, once you learn a few basic things.
Siobhán makes artisanal wines from foraged fruit and flowers and from organic fruit she grows. She uses wild yeast fermentation, creating wines that are more complex in flavour, gentler on the body and unique to the time and place in which they were created.
You can too.
This will be a relaxed, interactive workshop in which you can:
- learn the steps involved in making wine
- learn some of the science behind wine-making
- participate in the wine-making process,
- ask questions
- and taste the finished product!
Topics covered will include:
- Choosing the right raw ingredients
- Factors that affect fermentation
- Factors that affect flavour
- Protection from unwanted microorganisms
- Recipes
- Equipment
Book soon as places are limited.
