Delivering Migrants in Britain, c800–Present with confidence: Pearson Edexcel GCSE History

Tue 2 Feb 2027 16:00 - 17:00 GMT Online, Google Meet

Led by trusted CPD trainer and Head of History, Sam Slater, this 60-minute webinar provides a high-impact roadmap for delivering the Migrants in Britain thematic study.

Sam cuts through the vast 1,200-year timeline to show you exactly how to structure the content for maximum student retention, focusing on the links that examiners look for. This is premium, specification-specific insight delivered at a pace that fits the schedule of a busy department.

  • Explore how to organise 1,200 years of history around the core reasons for migration, ensuring students can track continuity and change from the Vikings to the present day.
  • Identify the common pitfalls and historical "myths" that often trip students up, ensuring your cohort approaches the real experiences of migrants with accuracy and depth.
  • Gain practical strategies for teaching the complex economic, cultural, and social changes brought by migration, moving beyond simple descriptions to high-level evaluation of British society.
