Coopers' Cask Race 2026

The Worshipful Company of Coopers is proud to present the fifth annual Cask Race, returning to the iconic Guildhall Yard, the historic site of London’s Roman amphitheatre. On this unique stage, teams of four will go head-to-head in a test of speed, teamwork and barrel-rolling skill as they battle for the coveted championship title, currently held by the Merchant Taylors’ Company.

From 8:30am teams are invited to perfect their technique in open practice, before the official racing begins at 9:30am. Expect a morning of energy, colour and good-natured rivalry as competitors roll their way across the cobbles cheered on by fellow liverymen, friends and supporters. Fancy dress and team colours are strongly encouraged, and the more inventive the better. This is your chance to make an impression both on and off the course.

All participants are reminded to dress for physical activity: comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear are essential. Gloves will be provided on the day, and to avoid scrapes in the event of a tumble, we recommend wearing long sports trousers.

The Cask Race has quickly become one of the most spirited dates in the livery calendar, combining tradition, athleticism and camaraderie in one unforgettable morning. Places are limited and demand is high, so secure your team’s spot before registrations close at 5:00pm on 31 May 2026.
