Recruiting Early Permanence carers: strategies and preparation

The presenters will be Lindy Wootton, Early Permanence Lead, CCS Bristol and Hannah Moss, Early Permanence Lead, Coram.

It is an ongoing challenge to ensure that we reach potential Early Permanence carers and motivate them. It is important to ensure they fully understand their role as foster carers during proceedings.  We need to identify child-centred carers who can manage contact with birth parents and family members during proceedings. This is a big ask but we know that there are indeed families out there who can willingly undertake this task. This conference will provide opportunities to explore some approaches to this work.

As usual the morning session of the conference will be devoted to presentations and after lunch we will organise small group discussions and feedback in a plenary before ending at 3pm.
