Corelia Project: International Women's Day Concert
Fri 8 Mar 2024 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
The Old Church, N16 9ES
Description
Celebrate this International Women’s Day with the Corelia Project as they spotlight exceptional women in classical music. Taking the beloved combination of clarinet and string quartet, this concert will showcase exciting and beautiful clarinet quintets by women from Britain and beyond.
Australian clarinettist Magdalenna Krstevska is joined by the Alkyona Quartet in this exploration of quintets that deserve a place in standard concert programmes everywhere. From the exhilarating music of Elizabeth Maconchy and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich to the intricately woven, vivid soundworld of Anna Clyne, this is a concert not to be missed.
Returning to the beautifully intimate and relaxed space of The Old Church, Stoke Newington, this next instalment of the Corelia Concerts series will be the perfect opportunity to discover something new and to fall in love with composers you won’t believe you’ve never heard of!
This concert is generously supported by the GEMMA Classical Music Trust.
