Hull Community Taiko – 5 Week Course

Join Humber Taiko for our next 5-week Community Taiko course in Hull, running on Friday evenings, 6.00–7.30pm, at St Matthew’s Parish Hall. (opposite Malm Street on the Boulevard)

📅 Weekly from Friday 12th June to Friday 10th July, 6pm-7.30pm

These sessions are suitable for mixed ages (8+) and offer an exciting introduction to Japanese ensemble drumming (Taiko). Across the course, participants will learn:

• Basic Taiko techniques and rhythms

• How to stand, move and play the drums safely

• An introduction to Taiko instruments and equipment

• How to play a simple piece together as a group

No previous drumming or musical experience is required. Taiko is energetic and physical, so please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Participants with restricted movement are welcome and encouraged to work at their own pace – adaptations can often be made.
