Ready to take your Taiko drumming further? LEVEL UP is a brand-new series of monthly 3-hour sessions designed for adults and young people in secondary school and above (under 18s must have parental permission).

These sessions are for participants who already have some experience in Taiko with us, even at a basic level. We warmly welcome newer members who are keen to push themselves, but please note that these sessions are not suitable for complete beginners.

Booking onto Level Up gets your a FREE place on our Skill Up class just before, please book your free place via the Skill Up ticket link.

Each month we’ll explore exciting styles such as Naname (slant-stand drumming), Odaiko (the big drum!), Miyake, and other side styles, while learning complex ensemble pieces to build stamina, precision, and performance confidence.

Although you can book session by session, you’ll gain the most benefit by attending regularly — and as usual, we’ll provide reference videos and resources to support any “homework” participants may wish to do between sessions.

There will also be opportunities for those taking part to perform brand-new repertoire at upcoming events.

To keep these sessions as inclusive as possible, tickets will be offered on a tiered basis:

• Concession options for students, low income etc

• Standard rate.

• “Pay a little more” option for those able to support the programme further.

As always, we encourage everyone to work at their own pace and listen to their body. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water and a light lunch (there are no shops nearby) as we will stop for a half hour lunch break with a chance to talk through the work we are doing and look at videos or other resources.
