Cork Nature Network is holding a tree walk led by John Armstrong in Beaumont Quarry on the 22nd May at 6.30pm as part of Biodiversity Week. Please join us to learn about the importance of trees in the site and how they are being managed for biodiversity. Urban trees are under threat and this event is meant to inform and show how you can be part of an initiative to save trees in Cork City. This event is also part of our campaign to save over 200 trees in Beaumont Quarry and to show how devastating tree loss in our urban habitats can be.

About our speaker:

John Armstrong has a degree in Ecology from UCC and has a special interest in science education, the marine and water issues in Ireland. He is the campaigns manager for CNN and represents CNN on the board of SWAN (Sustainable Waters Network).

Meeting place: We will at the entrance to the quarry at the Cork Nature Network sign.

Please be advised that a member of Cork Nature Network may take photographs during this event. It is important for us to be able to document the work we do. These images may be used in future for promotional purposes for our organisation. Please email eventscnn@gmail.com or inform the leader on the day if you do not wish to appear in any photographs.
