Stories of Green Spaces
Stories of Green Spaces
Need help?
Cork Nature Network celebrates Heritage Week with a storytelling event in Beaumont Quarry. This is a great opportunity to share your experiences of how the natural environment has changed in Cork City. How important is biodiversity to the city's wild spaces? Beaumont Quarry is a great example: it hasn't always been the tree-filled oasis it is today. We will talk about how this space has changed over the years and hear from people who have seen the progress of its rewilding firsthand. Come and share your stories and memories of the city's wild spaces and how they have changed, or just listen and enjoy a gorgeous day out in the quarry.
Stories will be recorded for an oral history archive. If you have any stories, we would love to hear them!
This event takes place in the quarry. Look for our tables and chairs under the marquee. Tea and biscuits will be served.
This event is part of our Creative Connections series where we are creating opportunities for people to engage creatively with the biodiversity of Beaumont Quarry. Creative Connections is supported through Cork City Council by the Creative Ireland Programme, an all-of-government five-year initiative, from 2023 to 2027, which places creativity at the centre of public policy.
