Join us for a wonderful evening with Genevieve, Esala and Sorim (bios below). Please press the 'Join the guest list' button to register.
All are welcome to listen, draw, and/or watch the artists at work. Audiences are invited to contribute a drawing for the guest book if they wish. Entry/participation on Friday evenings is $10 or $20 with a drink. This contribution helps us cover costs and plan seating and refreshments.
Location: correspondences 39 Sydney Road Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map). Event entry via the rear right of way, via Black Street (which runs parallel to Sydney Road). Our ushers will direct you.
Proceedings:
—6 pm for 6:20/6:30 pm start // live music improvisation.
—7 pm // tea/drink break / mix down recording for playback.
—7:30 pm // drawing session with playback. Audiences are welcome to participate or watch the artists at work.
—8:00/8:30 pm drawing complete.
—8:00/8:30 - 9:00 pm Drinks, mingling. The event space closes at 9:00 pm.

—Participants are invited to submit their drawings for exhibition in our guest book, which will be displayed at the end of the making period in the exhibition space.
—If you'd like us to supply your materials, please donate $5.
—Please arrive after the music mediation/post mix down to start with drawing or to watch the artists at work if you prefer. Entrance via the rear only.
—Drawing will be freestyle and self-guided, except for one workshop session to be held on Saturday, 11 February. Please join this session for a more hands-on teaching experience. Register here.
—Some participants may be invited to sit in the courtyard and listen to playback while drawing to manage indoor numbers.

Artist Introductions/Bios
Genevieve Fry
Genevieve Fry is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Naarm/ /Birrarungga. Genevieve is interested in exploratory music, drawing inspiration from the natural world, and encouraging an inward journey touching on deep time, memory and sense of place/ self. In both solo and collaborative contexts across the experimental, contemporary, pop and improvisation scenes, Genevieve cocoons the listener within hypnotic combinations of harp, recorder, synthesizer and voice. As well as being the principal director of new-wave new-age project Cold hands Warm Heart, Genevieve has performed and collaborated with acclaimed acts, including King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (Hear My Eyes; Suspiria), Grand Salvo, Manisha Anjali, Outer Urban Projects, Geoffrey O’Connor, Taylor Mac (US) and Four Larks Theatre (US). Genevieve is the co-founder of Eastmint artist-run studios, label and performance space which focuses on presenting and supporting music that promotes deep listening from a diverse range of artists across all genres.
Esala Liyanage
Based in Naarm/Birrarungga, Esala Liyanage is a multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of Eastmint, an artist-run studio and record label. He has been playing in new age / new wave / ambient and experimental bands in Melbourne and Hobart for almost two decades. Projects include percussion and drums for bands CHWH, IIC Improvisation collective, Prudence Rees-Lee, Hana Maru, as well as arranging and performing in musical theatre company Four Larks (US).
Sorim Byeon
Sorim Byeon is a living being and artist who works full-time existing; they are not always sure what they're doing, but sure of what they like: taking photographs, writing prose, books and monochrome. Their multidisciplinary practice includes photography, spoken words, and hand-crafting.
