Big South West Scuba Sale

Come to Cheltenham for our inaugural Big Scuba Sale! It's like a car boot, but there are no cars, boots or dodgy burger vans. What there will be is the chance to buy or sell a whole range of scuba gear - there's no limit on what people might bring. We've also set space aside to sit and chat with friends and acquaintances, and we've reserved space for BSAC regional coaches too.

Situated less than two miles from M5 Junction 11, our venue has loads of parking and we have space for 15 vendor tables. If you'd like a table, act quickly - they are likely to sell out quite quickly. It's just £15 for a table, and we're happy to welcome individuals, clubs or other groups as sellers. Tables are approximately 2x1m, and of course there is space for heavy stuff in front of your table. We have saved the three spaces on the stage for business sellers, but there will be a £50 charge for businesses attending. Businesses cannot use a £15 table.

There is a small charge of £3 for a buyer's ticket, as we do need to ensure we cover costs. Having buyers sign up in advance also lets us know whether our event is actually viable or not, and to sugar coat the cost we are giving you a free drink from the server. We will also be offering a selection of cakes and treats, and possibly bacon sarnies.

When we put the idea for the sale together, we wanted to achieve two targets:

• Allow divers a face-to-face chance to buy and sell unwanted or surplus dive gear
• Have a location for a really good chinwag with added cake and drinks

And to be brutally honest, a few quid for branch funds would certainly help too! Ultimately, we’re trying to create an event – hopefully an annual event – that allows people to enjoy a relaxed social environment at the beginning of the dive season.
