BOOKISH BESTIES GIRLS, it's a Summer Lovin' Retreat! This retreat is all about reading, connecting, incredible author chats and investing in YOU!

It's 2026 and the year for investing in YOU and we're proudly partnering with Counterpoise and Midnight Books to host a super exciting reading retreat near Taunton! This is the the ultimate reading escape in the most gorgeous Bridgerton style house! Picture picnic lunches with your new besties, hearing from authors themselves and having all your meals cooked by a private chef! Each guest will also have access to incredible transformative therapist-led workshops and the option to have an onsite 1:1 session.

This retreat is in partnership with the incredible Midnight Books UK to bring you incredible bookish activities with your fave authors and their books! Each attendee will get their very own amazing Midnight goodie bags, including proofs and exclusive artwork!! We’ll be running themed activities based on Midnight books - from small-town romance to sports romance to dark romance for you to enjoy with your new besties. AND there will be incredible virtual author experiences and videos!

Upon arrival at our beautiful countryside venue in the South West, you'll be warmly welcomed with hugs, a cold drink and gorgeous goodies to sit back and enjoy!

A Typical Day:
-10am relaxing reading session with hot drinks!
-11am Virtual Author Chats with INCREDIBLE author (get your questions ready!)

-2pm bookish craft session (bedazzling!!)
-7:30 movie night in our cinema room with snacks of course!

FAQs

Where does the trip start and finish? The Retreat Venue, Nr Taunton, Somerset, United Kingdom.
What's the most convenient train station to the venue? Taunton station is 9 miles away. It has direct trains to London Paddington (1 hour 40 minutes) and Birmingham and beyond.
What if I'm not coming from London? We will create a group chat of everyone attending 2 weeks prior to the retreat, as we have community members attending from all over the country we will link everyone up and you can then find others traveling from a similar area to yourself, and if you like, travel together to the retreat, whether by car or train.
How do I get from the station to the house? Taxi details will be shared nearer the time- prebook is advised.
Do I have to pay the total ticket price in one go? No, you can use Paypal's Pay Later Payment option to spread the costs into smaller chunks if that works better for you or pay in full if it's easier we're flexible. Please note that Counterpoise and Bookish Besties have nothing to do with any payment discrepancies you will have to speak to PayPal directly in regards to failed payments.
Can I arrive on the day if there is a last minute drop-out? No, this is a ticketed retreat only and you will not be allowed to join the retreat without a pre-purchased ticket.
What kind of accommodation is provided on this trip? Shared Twin Single or King or Trio Single rooms. Please note there will be a limited amount of each room type.

Are my tickets refundable? Please note that we do not offer refunds or resales outside of our resale process. However, if you're unable to attend please let us know before the 30th June, and we'll be happy to assist with re-selling your ticket (on your behalf) to someone on the waiting list. While we can't guarantee a successful resale, we will do our best to support the process and help you avoid being out of pocket.
