Join us for a Spring Ritual, an immersive workshop designed for children from 5-16 years of age. Children over 8 years old may attend without an accompanying adult. Please book a ticket for each person attending.

This workshop invites participants to explore with the rhythms of the season through movement, theatre, and writing. Led by interdisciplinary artist and former resident Andrea Ling, whose practice explores rekindling rituals and bringing communities together, we’ll explore how seasonal traditions can offer care, connection, and meaning in modern life.

Activities will include:

Making Herb Bundles – Gather and tie herbs to reflect on the renewal of spring, setting personal intentions for the season ahead.

Movement Improvisation – Engage in playful and expressive movement inspired by spring’s energy

Creating Spring Rituals – Collaborate to design simple yet meaningful springtime ritual. Using song, storytelling, and symbolic gestures, we’ll perform our rituals outdoors, culminating in a shared moment around a fire.

Join us in celebrating the vibrant spirit of spring through creativity, connection, and reflection!

Practical Details:

  • Please dress warmly and bring outdoor-appropriate clothing for the fire ritual.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing to move in indoors.
  • No prior experience is necessary—just an open heart and a willingness to participate.

This workshop is for children aged 5-16 to attend with their parents or carers. Children over 8 years old may attend without an accompanying adult. Please book a ticket for each person attending.

This workshop will also take place twice throughout the day, please book your preferred session.

Support

Cove Park is a charity and most of our funding for our residencies and engagement workshops is paid by trusts, foundations and individual donors. Creative Scotland currently funds just 25% of our annual costs and individual philanthropy is essential to sustain our work.

Our Saturday Studio programme provides an inspiring environment for self-expression through creative education. Without this engagement initiative, young people in our rural community would not have access to free and consistent creative activity. Cove Park's new Argyll Associates programme invites individuals and families based locally to become a partner in helping us to enrich arts, culture, and creativity in Argyll. If you would like to help underwrite the costs required to keep our Saturday Studio workshops free and open, you can join our Argyll Associates programme or give a donation when booking.
