Walking the corridors of power, wielding influence and driving policy – this is the common picture of politicians in our minds. But politicians are weird.
In Honourable Misfits: A Brief History of Britain's Weirdest, Unluckiest and Most Outrageous MPs, Marie Le Conte looks back on the last 700 years to present and celebrate the oddest and most eccentric MPs that Westminster has known. From great inventions to bizarre habits or tragic deaths, Marie exposes human nature and its complexity in all its glory - a complexity that neither goes away nor improves upon becoming an MP.
We are delighted to welcome Marie Le Conte to our next CapX Live event and first event back in person in over a year! Marie will be in conversation with our editor, John Ashmore, on Tuesday 27th July 2021 at 17.30.
