Saturday 21st June 2025 is Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, and the 10th Anniversary of Crawick Multiverse.

We have an exciting day of celebrations planned and you are invited to join us from 4am to 6pm. Our Solstice Day Pass provides all-day access, although you are welcome to drop in and out throughout the day as you please. See Programme below.

NEW! SOLSTICE STOPOVER: Fancy stopping over in your motorhome on Friday 20th June and waking up to the solstice sunrise at Crawick Multiverse? We will have a limited number of motorhome spaces available to book on site for £50 per motorhome. This is a rare* opportunity to park on site next to Andromeda and The Milky Way! Please note Solstice Day Passes must be purchased along with booking a Solstice Stopover. Stay from 3pm on Friday to 3pm on Saturday – please note motorhomes will only be able to leave before 10am or between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday.

*Motorhome bays are generally available for stopovers in the car park from March to November for £10 per night, but this is a rare opportunity to park next to the landforms on the multiverse site (Friday 20th June 2025). Motorhome stays in the car park will not be possible on Friday 20th June.

THE PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY:

ALL DAY ADVENTURES: 4am – 6pm

  • 4am – Gates will open
  • 4am – 6pm – Come and explore Crawick Multiverse at your leisure throughout the day and feel free to participate in any of the activities that are taking place if you wish. With your Solstice Pass you can come and go as you please.

SUNRISE CELEBRATION: 4am – 8am

  • 4am – 6am – Watch the sunrise and and enjoy the moment with early morning performances from Wendy Stewart and Zoe Bestel
  • 6am – 7am – Take an early morning stroll of Crawick Multiverse and admire the views of the site and the valley beyond
  • 7am – 8am – Breakfast Time – bring a picnic or purchase snacks and refreshments at The Coalface

MORNING WELLBEING SESSIONS: 8am – 10am

  • 8am – 10am – And relax. Join our outdoor wellbeing sessions on the lawn. Options include Tai Chi and Qigong with Abby from Shining Cloud Tai Chi and Yoga with Kerry from Kerry Riddell Yoga.
    • 8am – Yoga
    • 8.30am – Yoga
    • 9am – Tai Chi and Qigong
    • 9.30am – Tai Chi and Qigong

FALCONRY DISPLAY AND INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES: 10.30am – 1pm

  • 10.30am – 1pm – Join us for our first ever Falconry display in the Sun Amphitheatre at Crawick Multiverse in association Elite Falconry
  • 10.30am – 11.30am – Falconry Display
  • 12noon – 1pm – Meet, fly and get photos with the birds (first come basis)

The site will be open until 6pm to there will be plenty of time to explore the site or pop out to discover more about Upper Nithsdale and the South of Scotland.

EARLY BOOKING ADVISED

We recommend booking online in advance. Passes can be purchased at The Coalface on the day, subject to availability.

PLEASE GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME ON THE DAY:

Please arrive in plenty of time to take part in any of the scheduled activities. We recommend booking your passes in advance to avoid disappointment and to save time on the day. It will take time to get parked, check in and walk up onto site, so please give yourself plenty of time.

FACILITIES:

The Coalface is where you will be welcomed by our visitor services team. It is home to our ticket office and the place to buy snacks, refreshments and merchandise. You can also take shelter in The Coalface and access toilets, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities.

COME PREPARED:

This is an outdoor venue, with mixed terrain so please wear suitable shoes and clothing for the site and the weather.

DOGS ARE VERY WELCOME, BUT PLEASE DO KEEP THEM ON A LEAD:

Dogs are very welcome, but they MUST be kept on a lead at all times for their safety and to respect other site users. This is even more important during the Falconry displays on Saturday 21st June.

10TH ANNIVERSARY OF CRAWICK MULTIVERSE

Our 55-acre art land, designed by the late Charles Jencks in a former open cast coal mine site, first opened to the public in June 2015. 10 years on and here we are. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past 10 years and to those of you who will visit us in 2025 and beyond.
