I hope you can join us for an upcoming Creative Frame 'Artists Talk' in The New Library in Dromahair on Wednesday, March 25th at 2pm. These sessions offer a relaxed and supportive space for artists to come together and share their creative process, special projects, works in progress, or any area of artistic interest with their peers.

Sharing their process, projects and practice we are delighted to be joined by sound artist Cathal Roche, writer Jo Nester and visual artist Di Henshaw. This event brings together perspectives from sound, writing, and visual art, offering a rich insight into the rhythms, challenges, and inspirations that drive artistic work.

Cathal Roche (1975), is a sound artist and improvisor specialising in solo saxophone performance and immersive audio installation. Roche’s developed use of saxophone extended techniques has led to collaborations with many artists and ensembles such as the Vanbrugh String Quartet, Atila Csihar, Ian Wilson, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Gabriel Rosenstock, Gare St. Lazarre, Irish Gamelan Orchestra and others. He continues to evolve his solo practice through the emerging medium of ambisonics and immersive audio, assisting audience into the core experience of performance and its relationship to memory and the psycho-acoustic. 'In my work, animated sound worlds host a spatial dance of spoken, played and incidental voices, subconscious scenographies are revealed through a listening collective in visual shelter, within the intimacy and pause of shelter the stable and unstable resonate, celebrating a togetherness which is often paradoxical, often fragile'.

Diane Henshaw is a visual artist. She works across drawing and mixed media, exploring the relationship between art, ecology, and place. Originally from Islandmagee, Co. Antrim, and now based in Tempo, Co. Fermanagh, her practice investigates the energetic and spiritual connections between people and the natural world. Working primarily through contemporary drawing, she develops abstract responses to landscape, sound, and environmental experience. Henshaw has exhibited widely across Ireland and internationally, and is the founder of The Drawing Box, a global drawing initiative connecting artists worldwide. Her work invites reflection on ecological awareness, environmental justice, and our evolving relationship with the land. Diane has just returned from an artists residency in India.

Jo Nestor, retired adult educator, won the Roscommon Chapbook Bursary Award 2025 for her collection ‘Swimming Donkeys’. She also won the Leitrim Guardian Literary Award 2020, is published in FISH Anthology 2024; SPLONK Issue 12; Roscommon New Writing 2019-23; and the broadsheet Autumn Leaves. She chooses to live in hope.

If you are a member of the artists network Creative Frame and you would like to present a new direction in your practice, discuss an idea you’re developing, or simply offer insights into how you work, get in touch, we would be delighted to include you in upcoming talks.
