Creative Glasgow SOUP - A microgranting dinner
Thu 20 Feb 2025 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Civic House, G4 9RH
Description
We know our membership is brimming with brilliant ideas. We’re here to help you bring them to life.
Be part of Creative Glasgow’s first SOUP event! Join us for a shared meal, listen to project pitches from creative practitioners and cast your vote for your favourite idea. The winning project takes home the donations collected at the door!
Hosting the night is professional funny person and expert compere, Kate Ha Ha Hammer – “the neurodivergent, anemic, gluten-intolerant, queer writer and comedian of your coolest dreams.” Food is provided by Parveen’s, who will be dishing up their incredible Pakistani inspired daal, rice and pickle bowls
This event, based on the Detroit SOUP model, gives creative practitioners and artists the chance to share short pitches for projects they want to realise. Those pitching will have four minutes to present their ideas and field questions from the audience. Guests will enjoy a warm meal and vote for their favourite pitch. The idea that receives the most votes will walk away with the cash raised on the door. Simple!
This event is generously supported through Creative Scotland's Open Fund for Organisations.
How it will work
Booking for the event is free but we’re asking guests to make a cash donation of £10pp or more on the door. We’ll provide each guest with a simple meal, and a vote to cast.
Pitches will have 4minutes to argue their case - why they should walk away with the prize! The audience can ask up to 4 questions to clarify the ideas shared.
Once all the pitches are heard, it’s voting time.
Once the votes are counted the decision is final… the winning idea will take home all the cash raised on the door.
