Last Thursday: Member Meet Up

We’re excited to confirm that we’re taking our regular monthly members’ meet-ups to new locations around the city, and our next stop is Bridgeton in the East End!

On Thursday 24th April, join us as we explore Bridgeton's studios and workspaces and hear directly from the creative professionals who make this area so vibrant. We’ll meet at Bridgeton Bandstand (outside Bridgeton Station) at 2pm, where we’ll begin a short walking tour.

Featured members this month:

• Musician, music educator and producer Bruce Wallace will share their work at independent recording studio, Studio 257. Based in Abercromby Street business centre, they have been responsible for producing the likes of Billy Nomates, Lucky Briar, and Under-Volt, providing high-quality, professional, accessible and affordable recording facilities for a range of musical outfits.

• Trudi Donaghue, founder of Wild and Kind CIC, will give us a tour of the co-working space and social enterprise set up to support neurodivergent creatives and social entrepreneurs. Highlighting their coworking facilities, training programmes and workshops, Wild and Kind CIC will share how they work to create more equitable and inclusive arts and social enterprise sectors in Glasgow.

• Professional tailor and dressmaker Alis le May of Clothworks Glasgow, based in Rogart Street Studios, will share their work exploring clothes making and mending as a means to encourage and support individual and community empowerment.

• Finally, we’ll pay a visit to the home of established dance company Indepen-dance, where we’ll hear from Artistic Director Karen Anderson. Indepen-dance are an inclusive dance company for disabled and non-disabled people of all abilities and ages, offering weekly classes across the city, outreach, training and volunteer opportunities. Refreshments will be available for Creative Glasgow members, provided by Indepen-dance’s Coffee Hut - a volunteer-led project supported by Glasgow coffee roasters Tin Donkey, all proceeds go directly to the charity.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow creative practitioners, artists, and businesses from across Greater Glasgow. You’ll also hear from the Creative Glasgow team about upcoming activity and how you can get involved. Have any questions or want to share your own projects? This is your chance to ask, learn, and network.

The floor will be open for our members to share their work, promote upcoming events, and highlight any exciting opportunities, resources, or collaborations.

This event is free and open to all—so bring your ideas, your enthusiasm, and your creative spirit!

• We will be meeting at Bridgeton Bandstand (outside Bridgeton Station) at 2pm - we'll then set off for a short walk between locations - please dress appropriately for the weather.
