Last Thursday: Creative Glasgow Member Meet Up August 2026

LAST THURSDAY is our monthly get together: a chance to hear what's happening across Glasgow's creative and cultural sectors, get into venues you'd not usually see, and share your own work with a warm, welcoming crowd.

This August we're teaming up with Film Hub Scotland for an evening at The Pyramid all about film exhibition in the city.

Film Hub Scotland backs the people who put film in front of audiences: cinemas, festivals, film societies and community screenings the length of the country. A project of Glasgow Film, the charity behind Glasgow Film Theatre, the Hub connects exhibitors, shares resources, and champions independent and specialised film well beyond the multiplex.

The night tackles a question facing everyone screening film in Glasgow right now - looking to cover topics related to venue infrastructure in Glasgow. What does a healthy future for film exhibition here look like, and how do we get there together? We'll open with drinks and a chance to mingle, hear short spotlight presentations from people programming and screening film across Glasgow, then open the floor to talk through where things go next.

This event is free and open to all. Bring your ideas, your questions and your enthusiasm.

• We'll be meeting at The Pyramid from 6pm for a welcome and networking over drinks and light refreshments, followed by spotlight presentations and an open discussion, finishing at 8pm.

One of the eight UK Hubs that make up the BFI Film Audience Network, Film Hub Scotland comprises over 320 members including independent cinemas, film festivals and community cinema all across the country. Our funding supports our members to reach new audiences, screen a wider range of films, and create accessible, inclusive cinema experiences for all. We also provide training, resources and networking events which help our members to develop their audiences and organisations.
