Upskill Day for Hospitality Operators - Run Your Own Workshops

Tue 21 Apr 2026 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM Tractors & Cream Glamping & Events, TA7 0QJ

A day of practical advice and learning for event, venue and glamping site operators who want to host or facilitate their own workshops.

Run by Creative Hosts workshop facilitator Kate Morel, and Vicki Jones, owner and operator of Tractors & Cream Glamping & Events - this day is crammed with inside tips and advice, plus practical hands-on learning.. and a lot of fun!

1. Morning Session - What, How and Delivery
Planning and practical decisions behind running successful workshops, you'll work through how this could look for your own venue, event or glamping site, covering:

  • Industry data & why experience-led activities are so popular
  • Revenues that running workshops can realistically generate
  • Collaborating with other local facilitators
  • Facilities you will need
  • Creative ways to work around limitations
  • Choosing workshop subjects to suit your brand and location
  • Setting the scene to create an immersive, relevant experience
  • Marketing workshops in a way that's engaging and 'on brand'

    2. Afternoon Session - Learn a Craft
A practical hands-on afternoon where you'll learn a skill that you can personally realistically deliver and charge for. Choose from two popular crafts, specially chosen because they that are adaptable to all seasons and many occasions, suitable for individuals / couples / groups and children, nor require specialist equipment or large upfront costs:
  • Seasonal Wreath-making with Kate, where you'll take away your own finished wreath
  • Cupcake decorating with Vicki, where you'll take away cupcakes decorated by your own fair hands

As well as learning a craft and how to teach it with confidence, you’ll experience the session from a customer’s perspective which is just as valuable as it helps you understand pacing, presentation, and what could make a workshop or activity especially enjoyable for your own customers.

You’ll leave with practical ideas tailored to your own setting, new skills you can use straight away, ideas to collaborate locally, and a clear understanding of how workshops can support your business - plus you'll have had a smashing day at Tractors & Cream with Vicki and Kate!
