Writing Funding Bids
Writing Funding Bids
This practical online workshop, led by Christina Poulton, is all about developing a strong funding application. Designed particularly for early career artists and those who are new to fundraising, the session will include an overview of who funders are, how the funding landscape works, and how to research and identify opportunities that are relevant to your work. It will also take you through the key stages of planning and writing a funding bid, including how to describe your work and pitch your project, explain what it will achieve and why it's important, and prepare a realistic budget.
There will be plenty of examples and opportunities to ask questions during the workshop, and slides and resources will be shared with attendees after the session.
This workshop is part of Built to Last: practical ways to sustain a creative practice - a series of workshops designed to help artists and creatives build a practice that is personally and financially sustainable. Led by artists and people working in the creative and cultural sector, the sessions will explore how to build a resilient creative practice without compromising your fundamental focus or motivation. We are grateful to The Goldsmiths' Foundation for supporting this programme.
About Christina Poulton
"I have worked for arts and not for profit organisations, and with individual artists across the UK, since Linkin Park were topping the charts. I support organisations and freelancers to make your work easier to manage and fund, so you can focus on the creative stuff. I’ve raised £4.2 million+ in successful funding bids, through bid writing, consultancy & access support. This has included everything from small projects with £500 from local funders, through to multi-year and Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation bids."
