"What Are You Carrying?": Youth Programme with Creative Stirling and No Knives Better Lives

"What Are You Carrying?" is a youth-led creative project for young people aged 13 to 19 from Forth Valley/Central Scotland, running from the 19th of October until the end of March.

Sessions take place every Monday from 11am to 3pm (including a one-hour lunch break) at the Creative Stirling venue / Made in Stirling Store. Participation is free, but booking is essential.

Join us to explore issues that matter to young people, share your experiences through creativity, meet new people, and help develop an exhibition and resources that will be used across Scotland to spark conversations about belonging, community safety, identity, knife crime prevention, and positive change. No previous creative experience is needed.

Throughout the project, you will have opportunities to develop creative, communication, teamwork, leadership, and facilitation skills. You will gain experience in project planning, exhibition development, public engagement, and collaborative working, helping to create meaningful change both locally and nationally.

The group will meet weekly to take part in creative workshops, learning opportunities, project planning, resource development, and exhibition preparation. Together, we will create resources to share with youth groups across Scotland. Each participating area, including the Stirling group, will also create an artwork for a national exhibition exploring themes of youth violence prevention, community safety, and positive futures, which will be hosted in our venue and organised by this group.

To ensure the wellbeing and safety of everyone involved, we require safeguarding information from all participants. As places are limited, advance booking is essential. If you have any questions, please contact samg@creativestirling.org.
