Creative Jewellery Course – Autumn Term 2026

Join us this September for an immersive, twelve-week creative jewellery course designed to unlock your creativity, build your technical skills, and connect you with a vibrant community of makers.

With small class sizes of just six students, you’ll receive highly personalised, step-by-step guidance tailored to your unique pace and skill level. Whether you want to design bespoke pieces for yourself, create heartfelt gifts for loved ones, or craft professional-quality items to sell, this course offers the perfect environment to thrive.

Course Highlights & What You'll Learn

  • Foundational Week 1: Perfect for complete beginners or those needing a refresher. You will get to know essential jewellery-making tools and learn to mark, measure, cut, file, texture, form, and solder. These basic skills will help you plan your designs before ordering silver for future projects.
  • Essential Techniques: Benefit from weekly demonstrations and handouts covering advanced skills like metal piercing, Keum Boo, granulation, fold forming, and soldering.
  • Optional Half-Term Group Projects: Dive into specialist techniques such as sand casting, brooch pin fabrication, forged bangles, and enamelling.
  • Tailored Design Support: Share your inspirations or ideas with Teresa ahead of time so she can adapt the learning to suit your specific creative interests.

Creating Community & Belonging Through Craft

More than just a technical workshop, this course is a space to nurture your well-being, share inspiration, and grow alongside like-minded creatives. As part of our community, you will enjoy:

  • Mindfulness Flow: Arrive a little early to take part in an optional, complimentary mindfulness practice to ease into your creative focus with clarity.
  • The Makers Collective: Become part of a creative tribe! We exhibit our work together in Cambridge, organise social events (including a book club), and take regular trips to Hatton Garden, the historic hub of London’s jewellery trade for industry insights.
  • Guest Experts & Trips: Expand your horizons with specialist guest teachers covering topics like Repousse and engraving, alongside external learning opportunities like visits to the Birmingham School of Jewellery to explore Gemmology.
  • Studio Comforts: Enjoy complimentary refreshments throughout every class, including sweet treats, cold drinks, tea, fresh coffee, and a selection of herbal teas.

Requirements

  • No prior experience is required.
  • Participants should feel comfortable navigating a workshop environment and have the manual dexterity required to safely use tools like saws and torches.
