Background

The past few years have seen community energy activity grow at pace in London with an increasing number of projects delivered by a growing number of groups and practitioners. The sector has been supported by the Mayor through the London Community Energy Fund (LCEF) alongside a number of boroughs who have established their own Community Energy Funds (CEFs).

Community Energy London (CEL) has published an ambition for 1,000 projects across the city by 2030, a target that has been adopted by the Mayor's Community Energy Task Force and CEL is now actively working with boroughs through the London Councils' Community Energy Working Group (CEWG).

About this event

We want to see community energy action powering up across the whole of London. So CEL is working with groups in North, East, South and West London delivering four events in London Climate Action Week (LCAW) to highlight:

  • Groundbreaking community energy projects delivered by groups
  • The potential for new community energy projects in each of London's four sub-regions
  • Routes for the Government's to help ensure that community-led climate action is supported through GB Energy

Join groups from across South London on 25 June to celebrate Community Energy Now! Powering Up West London
