Surrey County Cricket Club Charity Carols by Candlelight
Celebrate Christmas on Thursday 11 December (7pm) at Surrey County Cricket Club’s annual cricket-themed charity carol service! Feel free to join us from 6.30pm for a glass of mulled wine before the service. This year's event will be carols by candlelight.
The 2025 event, in aid of the Surrey Cricket Foundation and Surrey CCC’s international charity, Cricket Builds Hope, will take place at St Mark’s Church, Kennington, SE11 4PW, near the Kia Oval.
As usual there will be readings from VIP guests from the world of cricket plus music from the UK's only choral cricket team - Faire Is The XI - and top brass ensemble London City Brass, in a service led by Rev Canon Steve Coulson, Vicar of St Mark's and Chaplain to Surrey CCC.
Tickets are FREE but there is a suggested minimum donation of £20 per person, for those who can afford it, to support the work of the Surrey Cricket Foundation and Cricket Builds Hope. Donations will be split evenly between the two charities.
Guests attending on the night can take part in the Raffle, as well as a special 'Guess the number of Yorkshire Tea bags' competition to win tickets to watch cricket at the Kia Oval next summer! Mulled wine and minced pies will be served from 6.30pm, and after the service.
The Surrey Cricket Foundation is the charity charged with the delivery of recreational cricket in the area. It supports communities, schools and clubs by providing funding, knowledge, coaching and competitions in Surrey and South London. It aims to get more people playing cricket, and in doing so improving health and well-being of the recreational game and identifying young talent for Surrey CCC.
Cricket Builds Hope uses cricket and the spirit of the game as a tool for positive social change in Rwanda.
