Celebrate Christmas with Cricket Builds Hope and Surrey County Cricket Club at St Mark's Church, Kennington, near the Kia Oval, at a carol service with a cricket and Rwanda twist!
Cricket Builds Hope, which uses cricket and the spirit of the game as a tool for positive social change in Rwanda, invites you to join us for a charity carol service on Thursday 5 December, in partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club.
There will be readings from VIP guests, including Surrey fast bowler Stuart Meaker, Rwandan High Commissioner Yamina Karitanyi, and International Development Minister Baroness Liz Sugg, plus music from the UK's only choral cricket team - Faire Is The XI - in a service led by Rev Canon Steve Coulson, Vicar of St Mark's and Chaplain to Surrey CCC.
We are also due to be joined by Jennifer Kamikazi, an up and coming British singer/songwriter of Rwandan and Ugandan descent, with over a million streams on Spotify and other music platforms. Jennifer grew up on a farm in Rwanda and her music is influenced by fond childhood memories of nights spent under the stars listening to folk tales called ‘imigani’.
After the service, you are invited to join us for mulled wine and mince pies at the back of the Church.
Tickets are £25 and all the proceeds will go towards Cricket Builds Hope.
Friends of Cricket Builds Hope, who pay £10 a month to support the charity, get FREE entry for carols and drinks as well as other exclusive invitations to CBH events throughout the year.
