CL - CHILD SAFEGUARDING 3 - DLP COURSE (THURS 20.3.2025)
Thu 20 Mar 2025 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM GMT
Via Zoom (on-line delivery)
Description
In line with supporting our clubs in the area of Child Safeguarding, Aideen Rice (Chair of Cricket Leinster Child Safeguarding & Inclusion Committee) will be delivering Safeguarding 3 for Club Designated Liaison Persons (6.30pm to 9.30pm) on Thursday 20th March 2025.
Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and An Garda Siochána.
It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as Designated Liaison Person once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role.
A person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Basic Awareness Workshop in Child Welfare & Protection and should complete this Designated Liaison Person 3-hour workshop. A club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles.
Please book early as places are limited - relevant certificates are provided at the conclusion of this Course.
