How does listening help us deepen our sense of place? How can we best represent a place through recordings? And how can we utilise field recording as a form of care and conservation?
Join Sound Designer, Field Recordist and Musician Emma Bernard for this Field Recording Workshop, where she will help introduce the basics of field recording, exploring how it can be used to document, archive and preserve locations, while deepening our understanding of the various environments we inhabit.
No previous experience or specialist equipment is required. Participants will be invited to contribute their recordings to a collective, with recordings made during and after the workshop played at 113 throughout the final week of Critical Signals.
We will meet at 113 Taranaki, before walking over to Central Park together.
This workshop is for femme and gender diverse people. RSVP is essential as there are very limited spaces.
