Crossroads is excited to share this dynamic five-week workshop series that explores a power analysis of white supremacy and systemic racism in the United States. We recommend registering one or more “pods” of 4-6 people from your institution or organization where you are organizing for change. Individuals are welcome to register and will be put into learning pods with other individual participants to create a small learning cohort that will deepen their Independent Learning through large and small group discussion. The shared learning environment encourages participants to apply this analysis towards institutional growth and change.
The workshop has six primary objectives:
- Co-actively – in action together – create shared language for talking about how white supremacy and systemic racism operate in the United States society
- Explore the historical development of white supremacy and systemic racism in the United States
- Experience a sense of one’s individual and collective stake in the reparation and restoration of all creation
- Grapple with how white supremacy and systemic racism operate by applying a power analysis to systems and institutions
- Dig into the processes of racialization that misshape all people and consider how to build pathways towards antiracist co-liberation
- Practice using tools, applying frameworks, and having intentional conversations together in cohorts that build the foundation for antiracist institutional transformation.
Toward Liberation is a five-week digital workshop series with a total of 25-35 contact hours that utilize a breadth of modalities to engage a variety of learning styles. Cohorts of participants engage in three-hour Discussion & Deepening Sessions hosted on Zoom each week of the series. Participants will deepen their understanding from the Individual Learning through large group discussions, experiential activities, small group sharing, and individual reflection. The weekly 2-4 hours of Individual Learning are structured on our Learning Management System (LMS) which is hosted by Brainier. The weekly modules include in-depth pre-recorded videos, guided research activities and self-reflection prompts.
Those who are unfamiliar with the Learning Management System are invited to participate in an orientation session on Friday, August 4 from 1:30-3:00pm. This session will be recorded and made available to all cohort members. The full cohort will meet weekly on Fridays from 1:30 - 4:30 pm CT, for a three-hour Deepening & Discussion session, facilitated by Crossroads Staff. The dates for the Deepening and Discussion sessions are August 11, 18, 26, September 1 & 8.
INSTITUTIONAL PRICING:
Cost per participant is on a sliding scale based on the annual gross revenue of their institution:
- $975 per individual registration: institutional budget above $16.5 million
- $775 per individual registration: institutional budget between $2 million - $16.5 million
- $575 per individual registration: institutional budget between $400K - $2 million

The registration form allows for payment through PayPal using a credit card or to send a physical check. Please note that the access code to the Crossroads Learning Management System will not be released until the check is received.
INDIVIDUAL PRICING:
This workshop is open to participants who are individuals who are opting to join for their own learning and paying out of their own pocket as well as those who are attending as employees representing an institution that is sponsoring their registration. For this reason, we offer two sliding scales for those two different categories of participants.
For individuals paying out of their own pocket, Crossroads recognizes that price can be a barrier to attendance. We have set the value of the workshop at $175 for an individual and invite you to select the price that is appropriate for you.
- Full Price Individual Ticket: $750
- Half-Price Individual Ticket: $375
- Minimum Fee Individual Ticket: $100
- Sponsored Individual Ticket: $0
ACCESSING THE WORKSHOP:
All participants must have a registered Zoom account to ensure security and confidentiality of the space. If you do not have a Zoom account, please create a free Zoom account beforehand: https://zoom.us/freesignup/. In order to access the full functions of Zoom and our shared workspaces, we highly recommend joining the meeting from a laptop or desktop computer. Accessing the workshop through a tablet or phone will limit your ability to interact with the fullness of the experience.
The Independent Learning Materials are “gated” and released to participants one week prior to the Discussion & Deepening Session in which they are discussed. Participants must attend the Discussion & Deepening Sessions in order to receive access to the next week’s Independent Learning Materials. At the conclusion of the Workshop Series, participants have an additional 45 days to download any handouts they want to keep and/or review any of the material from the Workshop Series (for example the videos). Access to the Independent Learning material will be withdrawn 45 days following the completion of the final Discussion & Deepening Session.
TIME CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE REGISTERING
Attendance at all 5 of the Discussion & Deepening sessions is mandatory. However, we understand that some participants may experience extenuating circumstances that prevent their attendance at a Discussion & Deepening Session. If such an absence occurs, the participant should contact the facilitation team prior to the next session to describe the session that was missed. No more than one such absence from a Discussion & Deepening Session can be permitted. Participants who have missed two sessions will be withdrawn from the Crossroads LMS and not admitted into future Discussion & Deepening sessions in this workshop series.
Please carefully read the complete workshop and cancellation policies that are included at the bottom of the registration form as well the confirmation email. If you have concerns about your ability to participate or any accommodation needs please contact us at registration@crossroadsantiracism.org.
