New Year's Eve at the Croydon Buddhist Centre
On New Year's Eve we naturally want to gather with others, and be part of a collective experience of letting go and bringing in the new. If you'd like to celebrate without alcohol, in a joyful and connected atmosphere, then do join us in the Croydon Buddhist Centre!
- Timings: Thursday, 31st Dec 6:30pm – Friday, 1st Jan 1:00am
- Suggested donation: £30 (waged) / £20 (unwaged)
- All welcome!
What will this event look like?
We'll start the event with dinner, cooked by our generous volunteer cooks, then spend the time leading up to midnight with meditation, storytelling, reflection, and a special Buddhist ritual.
Would you like to spend more time with reflection and meditation in the holiday season? Join us for our New Year Urban Retreat, happening right before this event – details and booking here.
Who is this event for?
Everyone is welcome who'd like an alternative New Year's Eve celebration, spent with reflection, meditation, and ritual. You don't have to be a Buddhist, or to have been at the Buddhist Centre before – all you need is comfortable clothes and an open mind.
How much does it cost?
We offer our events at the Croydon Buddhist Centre on a donation basis. There’s no fixed fee - because the Dharma is priceless, and we want it to be accessible to all. But your donations are essential. They keep the Croydon Buddhist Centre running - not just for today, but for future generations who will come here to discover and explore the Dharma.
For this event, we suggest a donation of £30 (waged) / £20 (unwaged). Please give what you can – more if you’re able, less if you need to. What matters most is your presence and participation. Learn more about the Dana economy here.
