A Heart Day for People of Colour
Sunday 23rd April, 11am-4pm
Open to all people of colour
Suggested donation £25 (including a light lunch)
“Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” James Baldwin.
What do the Buddha’s teachings on liberation mean for people of colour? We begin our exploration of freedom for people of colour with a day on the heart, on metta (loving kindness). Join us and see how love can be stronger than hatred, and offer us a path to freedom.
This is a day run by and for people of colour, open to people of all levels of experience of Buddhism and meditation - whether it is your first visit to the Buddhist Centre, or you are a regular attender here. The day will include meditation, discussion, chanting and ritual. Some delicious plant-based curry, with rice and peas will also be provided for lunch, and you are welcome to bring some extra vegetarian/vegan items to share!
The day is offered by donation and there is a suggested amount of £25. But please feel free to give more or less, depending on your circumstances.
