Essential in-person training course for all staff working with expecting parents and families with children aged 0-2 years. Improve your understanding of perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationships and their impact on families, and apply this practically to support families in Croydon.
Modules:
8th October 2024 or 4th February 2025: Think Family Parental & Perinatal Mental Health
17th October 2024 or 10th February 2025: Practical Skills for Early Identification of Parent Strengths & Needs
24th October 2024 or 17th February 2025: Evidence Base & Practical Skills for Early Bonding, Parent/Infant Interaction and Development
29th October 2024 or
5th February 2025: Attachment, Infant Mental Health and Parental Relationships
Course impact:
- Difficulties prevented before they emerge, preventing adverse physical and mental health outcomes as children grow
- Families with a wide range of difficulties receive help from appropriate services
- Improved awareness of perinatal mental health for parents and carers
- Normalised and destigmatised conversations around mental health and around parent–infant relationship difficulties that might occur
- Reduction in demographic disparities in the access and uptake of support for perinatal mental health and parent–infant relationships
- Improved parent–infant relationships, resulting in positive impact on developmental outcomes for babies
Course information:
- Suitable for all practitioners working with families, no previous mental health training required
- In person training
- 4 modules per course, 1 day per module
- Attend and complete all 4 modules
- Each day lasts from 9:30am-4:30pm
- Lunch and refreshments provided
