Grieving is a highly individual experience; there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. The UYBO is a one-off group session which takes place over Zoom and provides a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can talk about your loss and its impact, should you wish to, we will support you to gain some understanding about your feelings and what may help when navigating difficult days. 

The session is supported by 4 trained bereavement volunteers with a maximum of 30 people who have also lost someone.  We do not invite people to the sessions based on the relationship to the person who has died, and we appreciate everyone’s circumstances are different, but we do hope that you will find support and comfort in being with others.  

The session starts with a presentation and then moves into smaller group discussions with a trained bereavement volunteer, here you can explore the presentation content and how it may relate to you.

We know that group discussions can seem daunting, please be reassured that this is a safe and confidential space with other people who have experienced loss, many clients tell us how positive and comforting the group discussions have been. If you do not want to participate in this, please feel free to leave after the presentation.

To conclude the session there will be a short grounding exercise to help you to relax and reduce any tension.

You are welcome to bring along a family member or friend with you to the session.

After the session you will receive some materials and information that was discussed at the session.
