Boon Army Live - Friday 30th June
A night of live music presented by and DJ'd by XS Manchester’s DJ Clint Boon.
Check out some great new bands, listen to some of Clint Boon’s top tunes, enjoy some special drink promotions, all before the last train back to Manchester. For those who can stay on the party will carry on until very late with the Indie Disco
Featuring:
Ian Spiller
Ian Spiller is a singer-songwriter from Manchester who was formerly the lead singer of the band Narrow Margin. Ian's solo material is often more introspective than the band's music but still retains moments of post-punk defiance.
Social issues are always present in Ian's writing and it's clear he is passionate about crafting purposeful lyrics. He sights the likes of the Libertines, The Clash, Billy Bragg, and Bruce Springsteen as key influences on his work, taking inspiration from a variety of places.
Having just recorded an album Ian is now set to hit the road and take his live show around the UK.
Alex Spencer
Street-smart indie-pop newcomer
Fresh from his latest single release 'A Night To Waste' - A Natural, prodigious talent in the mould of Jake Bugg, Declan McKenna and Sam Fender.
Striving independently to establish his name, Spencer has already received significant support from influential areas of the music world including exposure on-air with Radio X. Listeners have voted with their downloads and streams as early, self-released singles climbed to the top of the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart.
Spencer has already enjoyed the thrill of playing to an arena audience, performing his songs in front of 20,000 music fans at Manchester’s AO Arena following endorsement from Young Voices, bringing school age voices to the UK’s biggest venues.
The Lanks
