Shannon Heaton House Workshop & Concert

Boston-based Irish flute player Shannon Heaton will lead a workshop, then perform an intimate set of tunes, songs, and stories, taking listeners on a tour of places and people that keep Irish music alive. After the hour-long show, she will lead a session for all levels. If you know three or three-hundred tunes, you are welcome to pull up a chair and join in. Or just be part of the conversation between tunes!

Workshop Details

One good tune. Learn one quality Irish tune with good rhythm and style! Shannon will guide participants through an entire tune with elements of style. Learning tunes together is a great way to etch associations into these melodies. There will be some reference to flute ornamentation and breathing, though any instrument is welcome and can benefit from this approach
