Rod MacDonald House Concert 2026
Rod MacDonald has recorded 21 songs now in the Smithsonian Folkways collection and 14 solo albums, and he co-founded the Greenwich Village
Folk Festival. His original songs, such as “American Jerusalem,” “White Buffalo” and “Every Living Thing” have been recorded by Shawn Colvin, Garnet Rogers, Four Bitchin’ Babes, Happy Traum, Joe Jencks and others; “A Sailor’s Prayer” has been recorded by Jonathan Edwards, Dave Van Ronk and several Renaissance Fair bands. His song “Raven” from 2014’s “Later That Night” hit #1 on national folk/roots charts, and his 2023 “Rants And Romance” was the #5 most-played album on national Folk dj charts.
Goldmine magazine wrote in 2023 of his “songs flush with astute observations and commentary on the current stage of politics and populism at a time when courtesy and common sense seem to have gone wholly astray.”
