Future-proofing Edinburgh’s cultural buildings

This is an event for owners and managers of cultural buildings in Edinburgh or those involved in funding, policy, design or development of these buildings.

Informed by three years of environmental reporting from Edinburgh’s cultural organisations in collaboration with City of Edinburgh Council, Culture for Climate Scotland is facilitating this special event that will bring together people in charge of cultural buildings to discuss the huge challenges of adapting to the changing climate and reducing emissions in line with net-zero targets.

Building managers and owners across Edinburgh are already doing impressive work in this area, but efforts are often hampered by knowledge, funding and legislation barriers. This session will give you the opportunity to share your progress and begin work towards finding collaborative solutions to your barriers.

This free in-person event will take place on Monday 9 June in the West Drawing Room at Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, EH2 2LR.

Accessibility

The Assembly Rooms are a short distance from local bus and tram stops and Edinburgh Waverley station. Please refer to their website for more information.

There is metered on-street parking along George Street and in the surrounding streets. Accessible parking is available in front of the building and on George Street if required.

Access to The Assembly Rooms is flat with no steps. This event will take place in the West Drawing Room on the first floor, which can be accessed either by stairs or a lift. Further information about the venue’s accessibility can be found on the Assembly Rooms website.
