Holy Inappropriate - Rhino Fest 2024
Multiple dates and times
Facility Theatre, 60622
Description
Could radical fundamentalism be the gateway to radical feminism? In ultra-conservative religions, female followers’ mission in life is submission, and womanhood is synonymous with motherhood. But what happens when Mom discovers that the family’s values of freedom of religion and freedom of speech pale in comparison to the most desirable freedom of all: reproductive? Will Mom maintain her pro-life stance—that birth control is exerted solely by God—or will she stop denying her born children the right to life? Holy Inappropriate is a one-act play that analyzes and satirizes purity, piety, and patriarchy.

Facility is a first-floor venue with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and two accessible bathrooms. Beverages will be available at a concession stand before performances.
Note: The Puerto Rican Festival will take place one block north in Humboldt Park on June 6-9. This will make the neighborhood more crowded and lively than usual! Parking may be a challenge. Please budget extra travel time if you are seeing shows at Facility this weekend.
